Charge Explainer
§ 01 · PREFIX · SHOPIFY

What does SHOPIFY mean on a bank statement?

A SHOPIFY charge is usually Shopify billing a store owner for a Shopify plan or platform fees. If you do not run an online store, look closely — a purchase from a Shopify-powered shop usually appears under the store's own name or SP* instead.

HOW TO READ IT

When this prefix appears, Shopify itself is the merchant — the charge is for one of its own products or subscriptions.
