Charge Explainer
§ 01 · PREFIX · SP*

What does SP* mean on a bank statement?

SP* charges come from independent online stores that use Shopify to sell goods and process payments. The name after SP* is the store you bought from, not Shopify itself.

HOW TO READ IT

Shopify is a pass-through: it handles the payment, but it is not the seller. The real merchant is the name that appears right after the prefix.

Processor: Shopify
